If you hadn’t guest from the photo… on Saturday 17th December I got engaged!
After three happy year’s with my partner Sam, just before Christmas, he decided to take me to London for the day.
Little did I know that when we entered the Christmassy scenes of Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, he’d plan to take me up a large ferris wheel and ask me one of the most important questions of my life.
It was a shame about the fog that day, but to be honest looking back the whole moment was a bit of a whirlwind. In fact, I wish I could go back and re-live it all again – so it must have been a good proposal!
After I said the magic words “i do” he then informed me we had an appointment at a diamond store in Mayfair where I would be selecting the ring of my choice.
We informed our parents (mine already knew as Sam had gone to the effort to ask their permission before hand, along with my brother Jay).
Then made our way to the diamond store. When we arrived I was dazzled to say the least, but with an idea in mind, it didn’t take us too long to find the ring of my dreams.
After selecting ‘the one’ to my disappointment I found out it would take around five weeks for the ring to be custom made and delivered… meaning I would be engaged all over Christmas and New Year with no ring.
When it arrived (on the morning of our engagement party) cutting it pretty fine, it was well and truly worth the wait. I am looking forward to many happy years to come, and getting round the fact I will be known in the future as Rachel Marie Hunt.
As the feeling started to sink in, we rushed back to Suffolk to celebrate with our family and friends at a gig in Walberswick put on by my brother.
