Celebrating 30

On the build up to my 30th Birthday, I have to confess – I was feeling rather down about it.

I’d never thought about reaching my thirties, but suddenly it crept up on me. Where had my twenties gone?

I will be the first to tell you my twenties were full of ups and downs. To cut a long story short…

When I was 22 I moved to Brighton, (up) lost a love and my first kitten passed away (down) moved back at 23. Then I started my first business Apparition (up). I moved to Bury, had another four year relationship and got my dog Archie (up), then it went horribly wrong (down), in-between I met Sam (my husband to be one day – up), started Bounce Magazine (up), rebounded into the most disastrous, controlling relationship, which ended in a restraining order, lots of conversations with the police, and having to buy back 50% of my company to him (major down), as a result had to leave Bury (down), but then got to live on my own in my first cottage (up). I then started seeing Sam (up), started the Suffolk Hamper (up), moved into a bigger cottage (up), got two kittens (up), started at Paddy & Scotts (up) and then before you know it 10 years have gone and I hit 30. So I am on my way up I think now – after lots of therapy!!!

To say my twenties were eventful was an understatement!

So actually, when I sat down and thought about it, I decided that I was going to embrace 30 and celebrate being a woman.

On the day before my birthday we went shopping in Norwich, then for a cocktail – topped of with a thai take away!

For my actual birthday I had lunch at one of my favourite places in Dunwich with Sam and my family.

However, no big milestone is complete without a few additional celebrations. So I had a big party at our house, Sam took me to Sutherland House in Southwold on my actual birthday and shortly after we visited Mexico, which you can read all about here.

Getting older isn’t something I am scared of anymore, with age comes wisdom and I think I am slowly getting a bit wiser!

Here are a few images from my birthday and the party!
